FAQ'S

When are Travel Permits necessary?
You need a Travel Permit to travel outside your zone or the Province.

How do I apply for a Travel Permit?
Hockey Canada has created an online Travel Permit application.  Coaches or Managers will have to go on the Hockey Nova Scotia Website under Development of Coaches and set up an E-Learning Account for their own use.  (STEP BY STEP)The coach or manager must first be registered on a team for the current year so they can use their team number and their personal HCR identification number, to set up the account. (If you are not registered on a team, please contact admin@pcmha.com.)
Once the account is set up the coach or manager can apply for a Travel Permit online from anywhere by accessing the HCR Site.  Up to five permits at a time can be applied for and they are automatically approved.  Once the permit is applied for the coach or manager can then print off a copy to take with them as they travel. The Travel Permit program generates a travel permit number, which can be used on the team's game sheet.
Requests should be in by Thursday evening for that weekend and not left to FRIDAY NIGHT.

What about AAA league games?
AAA teams travelling for league games are covered by a blanket travel permit. A travel permit must be obtained for any travel outside of our zone for exhibition or non-league games or tournaments. Any travel outside of the province requires a travel permit.

What if I applied for a Travel Permit and there isn’t a TP number?
For previously requested permits, you can find out the Travel Permit # by doing the following:
1) Through the elearning site, click on travel permits.
2) Next click, "view all requests" for your current team.
3) Click "view" on the right hand side of the desired travel request.
4) The travel permit # will be the first thing listed in these details.

Are game logs still required?
Yes. “Team Game Logs” will continue to be required and HNS Policy covers their use. Teams not completing Game Logs will be sanctioned. An electronic copy of the Game Log can be found under the “Managers’ Resources” section.

What if I have a player trying out for a team and s/he is injured?
Notify the parents that PCMHA has an “Injured Player Tryout Consideration” process. This is available on pcmha.com, under FORMS.

My team would like to host Provincials. What is the procedure?
Provincial hosts will be selected December 12 - 13, 2008. Immediately notify admin@pcmha.com of your intentions. There is a Hosting Provincials Guide and Application available on pcmha.com.

How many players can I register on my team?
Teams at B and Rec may carry up to 23 players on a roster, however, only 19 may play in any one game.

At what level team can a player belong and still be able to affiliate with a Major Midget Team?
Weeks Major Midget Team can affiliate with any midget age player in their area,  at any level down to and including Midget "B" as long as the player is registered on a team (within HNS) and playing this year 08/09.  Proper affiliation papers must be in place.
