2016-01-12

The Pictou County Bantam “A” Crushers had a home at home this past week-end with the Truro Bearcats with Crushers coming out on top for both games.

In the first game on Saturday, the Crushers scored the first goal of the game on a power play.  Nole Chapman and Luke Young had control of the puck behind the net, when Brycen MacDonald opened up in front of the net for the pass from Young and scored.  Ian MacDonald scored the second goal with assists from Spencer Murray and Brayden Killen.  Logan DeCoste scored the third goal on a shot from the point.  The Crushers fourth goal was scored by Chapman on a pass from Young.  The final score was 4-2 with Vaughn MacEachern getting the win in goal.

On Sunday, the Bearcats travelled to New Glasgow.  The Crushers scored a goal in each period and stifled the Bearcats offense for a 3-0 win.  Jayden Hatchard scored the first goal on a feed from Evan Shea on a power play.  The second goal was netted by Murray, with assists to Ian MacDonald and Thomas Devine.  The final goal, also on a power play, came from Shea with assists to Justin MacLellan and Jake Murray.  Keegan Walker earned the shut-out between the pipes.
