Wonder Auto Bantam AA Crushers Take a Point from First Place South Shore Sharks

The Wonder Auto Bantam AA Crushers played a pair of games this past weekend vs the #1 team in the league, the South Shore Sharks. Game 1 went in Bridgewater on Saturday. The Crushers came out strong and took a 1 goal lead into the third period.  South Shore were able to take advantage of a Crusher mistake, potting a goal to tie it up. The game ended in a 1-1 tie. Scoring the lone goal for the Crushers was Kyle Walsh. Ryan Royles backstopped the Crushers to the tie. Game 2 went on Sunday at the Pictou County Welleness Centre. The Crushers came out flat, giving up 3 goals in the first and 1 goal in the second. The third period was a different story for the Crushers, as they came out aggressive, controlling most of the play. With less than 2 minutes remaining, Liam Fraser scored the Crushers first goal of the game. Assisting was Connor Boudreau and Matt Munroe. Less than a minute later, goalie Nick Laffin made a pass up ice that spung Nick Dykstra in for the Crushers who then potted the Crushers second goal of the game. Despite their hard work and determination for a comeback, the Crushers fell 4-2 to South Shore. The Wonder Auto Bantam AA Crushers have the upcoming weekend off, and will resume action again when they participate in the 2014 Atlantic Classic AA Tournament in Antigonish from December 12-14.
