Selects Lose Two On The Road
2014-11-09The Selects traveled to Mabou and Port Hood for a double header against the Cape Breton West Islanders. The first game was a close match up with the score 2-1 for the Islanders before they scored late in the third with O'Donnell on the bench for the extra attacker. The final score was 3-1 for the Islanders. Scoring the goal for the Selects was Shipley assisted by Thompson. The hard work award was awarded to Wilson for the game and the dedication award went to O'Donnell.
In the second game the Selects opened the scoring. The teams traded goals back and forth and the Islanders took a 3-2 lead into the third period. The Islanders went on to score 3 unanswered goals in the third period for a final score of 6-2 for the Islanders. Goals scorers for the Selects was Wilson and Petipas with the lone assist going to L. Coolen. The hard work award went to Foley and the dedication award went to Vint.
The Selects are back in action on Saturday at home against the Antigonish Bulldogs.
