Respect in Sport Parent Program

What is Respect in Sport Parent Program?

Respect in Sport (RIS) – Parent Program Information Every player born in 2003 or later who is registering for minor hockey MUST have at least one parent/guardian take the Respect in Sport – Parent course. For every subsequent child registered, the parent who has completed the course MUST go into their profile and add any other children (so that every child is linked to a parent who has taken the course). The course only needs to be taken once by one parent/guardian.

Respect in Sport is an effective and informative online training program for parents of active children. The one-hour online certification program reinforces the role of a parent in activities of young athletes. Respect in Sport encourages positive sporting behaviours while providing insight into the various roles other individuals play. This program is about empowering parents to ensure the safety of their children, encourage positive and effective communication, and to enhance a child's fun and camaraderie of the activity.
