The Wonder Auto Bantam AA Crushers recently hosted and participated in the 30th Annual Bantam Memorial Tournament.  On Thursday afternoon they faced off against the Dartmouth Whalers.  The locals got off to a strong start and had a 3-2 lead going into the third.  The Whalers answered back by scoring 2 goals in the third and took a 4-3 win.  Crusher goals were scored by Luke Pelton assisted by William MacGillvray, Christian MacLeod assisted by Logan Quinn, and Connor Lochead assisted by Tyler Lewis and Quinn.  Thomas Baudoux was solid in goal.  Luke Pelton was named Player of the Game.   Friday’s match up was against the Yarmouth Mariners who took a 5-1 victory.  Scoring the lone goal for the local squad was MacLeod assisted by Lochead.  Brennan McGuire was between the pipes.  Christian MacLeod was chosen Player of the Game.  On Saturday, it was a close tilt versus the Cape Breton County Islanders which ended in a 3-3 tie.  Opening the scoring for the Crushers was MacLeod from Austin Mason and Lochead,  Mason from Lewis, and Quinn from Michael MacGillvray.  Baudoux was in goal.  Austin Mason was named Player of the Game.  Luke Pelton was awarded the tournament Ice Award given to a local player who embodies the spirit of hockey  and Connor Lochead was chosen All Star Defensemen in the Bantam AA Division.  This weekend the Crushers will travel to the valley to play the Western Valley Spartans.
