NOVICE ASSESSMENTS
Ice times for the novice assessments have been finalized and are available by clicking FULL STORY. . . . . .The assessments are scheduled to take place at the Wellness Centre as follows:
Friday October 4 @ 5 - 6 pm Trenton
Friday October 4 @ 6 - 7 pm Westville
Friday October 4 @ 6 - 7 pm ALL Goalies attend
Friday October 4 @ 7 - 8 pm Thorburn
Saturday October 5 @ 8 - 9:30 am Stellarton
Saturday October 5 @ 9:30 - 11 am Pictou
Saturday October 5 @ 11 - 12 noon New Glasgow
We ask that coaches have their players ready to go at the times noted.
The assessments will generally follow the National Skills Standards and Testing Program designed by Hockey Canada with some modifications to allow us to complete the assessments within the allotted time (for example, we will not do shooting or backwards skating with a puck and the transition / agility skate will be done without pucks only.)
HC Assessments
The skater assessments will be completed by 5 assessors who will be present for all sessions for all players to ensure consistency.
It would be very helpful if a couple of coaches from each division could come on the ice to assist while players from their division are on the ice.
When the assessments are completed, players identified to participate in the novice advancing groups will be notified. The results for each division will be provided to PCMHA for distribution to the respective divisions. We highly recommend that those results be used to complete any further placement of players between Developmental and Intermediate teams in the respective divisions.
