The Wonder Auto Bantam AA Crushers came up short on a pair of home games this past weekend at the Pictou County Wellness Centre. The first game went Saturday vs the Western Valley Spartans. The Crushers were ahead 3-2 late in the game, but were again unable to hold onto the lead, to suffer a heartbreaking 4-3 loss. Scoring for the Crushers were Alex MacKinnon, Sam McDow, and Daniel Molyneaux. Assists going to Zach Houston with 2, Luke Sheehan, and Parker Hickey. Ryan Royles was solid in goal, making 29 saves in the loss.
Game 2 went on Sunday where the Crushers welcomed the 2nd place Truro Bearcats. The Crushers could not get anything going until the third period, but were unable to capitalize on their chances. The Crushers dropped the game 2-0. Nick Laffin played a great game between the pipes, making 30 saves in the loss.
The Crushers only play one home game this coming weekend at the Pictou County Wellness Centre. That game is Saturday at 1:00pm vs the West Hants Warriors.
